So I have several groups where I offer support for others, simply for the selfish reason that it makes me happy to help people. I get great joy when I have helped someone overcome a technical problem with their computer, or their website, or their software. If it’s a storm, substitute exciting for peaceful. For me that’s a peaceful, protected and nurtured feeling. Sitting on a covered porch, wrapped in a blanket, listening to and watching the rain. □ She is 1 year old and just took her first steps. Something that makes me happy is: watching my daughter’s excitement when she learns how to do things for the first time. I love the dark evenings and not feeling guilty about reading or watching a good movie. I love the sharp crispness of the air and the freshness of the mornings. I love the bonfires and the fireworks and the hotdogs we eat with tomato ketchup and fried onions. I love searching for mushrooms and eating straight from nature. I look at the colours of the trees and the way the seed heads are forming on the grasses sending fountains of glory into the air. I love the season of Autumn and walking in nature. Whenever I’m feeling low all I need to do is look into my labrador’s eyes, who looks back with an air of enthusiastic expectation for us to head out for another adventure into the world outside. Playing in muddy or clean puddles, kicking leaves. Making silly noises while reading stories. Playing with my grandchildren ages 2, 3 and 4 always makes me happy, allows me to be childish again, swinging on the swing, sliding down the slides, swinging on ropes. The long, blissful breathing out sound that my 4yo makes whilst sleeping makes me happy, or when he sings his made up songs in his made up language while playing. I love the rhythmic sound of wheels rolling on a track or tarmac. What makes me happy is seeing the first snowfall of the season while my cats cuddle with me!Īs well as walking in crunchy woods in Autumn and trying to catch leaves as they fall, the other thing that makes me super happy is roller skating – indoors, outdoors whatever. I don’t know which of us was more surprised but I know who was more happy! I went for a bike ride today along a narrow lane near my home in Fife and a startled buzzard flew alongside me for a few seconds at the same pace until it peeled off across the fields. Just to be nice! Friends ate everything □ Mine was finding my friend had come over while I was at work and watered my plants. My son and I have instigated a happy moment each day to report on. Something that makes me happy is birds singing high up in a tree as sunlight peaks through the branches. My daily walk along an old railway, with the sunshine sparkling through the Autumn branches, and the squirrels busily searching for food. The vibrations go on and on.īoth of those sounds make me extremely happy.įor me, all things creative…and all things vintage make me super happy! I also love the rich melodious sound (and feel) that my 10” Tibetan singing bowl makes when it is resting lightly on my palm and then gently struck with its wool felted drumstick. One of the sounds I love is the sweet little churring that my cat does when he’s really excited, like when he sees a bird outside the window. Something that makes me happy: curling up on the couch next to the window on a Sunday morning with a handmade blanket, a cup of coffee, and a good book or magazine. I would really like to listen to your tracks while I make my artwork and would be very interested to see the outcomes. I am auditory tactile synesthesia and create synesthesic drawings in places of natural beauty, listening to immersive melodies. One of the big things that make me happy is making my artwork. I could say I have many things that make me happy and feel very privileged to say so. I love listening to my tiny FM radio in bed at night, sometimes catching the shipping forecast. The feel of my granddaughter snuggling up to read a story with me The taste of sweet and sour limeade on a hot summer afternoon The smell of fresh rolls homemade – golden and hot coming out of the oven The sound of frogs as I walk close to the pondĪ new set of watercolors and a white page Thinking of all these things make me happy. Listening to Lauridsen’s Magnum Mysteries. Watching the toads coming to life in vernal pools at the side of the road. A fire in the fireplace while it snows outside. So something that makes me happy is to eat tomatoes with salt, lemon, soy sauce, valentina chili and Tajín, which reminds me of my childhood whenever I didn’t find a yummy snack I would do this one and watch a movie or play board games with my cousins.
